While leaving the Pops Concert Zach Biebert tripped over an extension cord and hit his head. A group of Prep students gathered around him. One student said, “Somebody tell his mom and dad?” Another tried diverting his attention off the pain by asking, “So who is your teacher?” and “What’s your favorite subject?”Lake Olson Predicted as Next Venue for Ice Capades.The National Ice Capades steering committee announced this morning that it is considering Lake Olson as a possible venue for Ice Capades 2009. Ice Capades went out of business in 1995 after it was bought by Pat Robertson’s International Family Entertainment Inc. However, the Ice Capade franchise is trying to be revitalized. To be the showcase Lake Olson would have to beat out the the following other possible venues: Madison Square Garden, The Staples Center, and Miller Park.Mission Advancement Office Sells IndulgencesIn an effort to bring in extra funds the Mission Advancement plans to sell indulgences through Thrivent. Two marketing catch phrases will be seen in the indulgences promotion: “Insurance for your soul” and “You scratch our back we’ll scratch yours.” For added affect the Indulgences will feature the signature of Pope Theodorus. However, neither MLC nor Thrivent will comment on the indulgences’ effectiveness.
